Issues and Options Paper for the South West of Exeter Area Action Plan

Consultation commenced on 11 December for a seven week period on an Issues and Options Paper for the South West of Exeter Area Action Plan.  This considers options for providing for 2,000 new homes and associated development in an 'Area of Search' in Teignbridge to the south west of Exeter, identified through the Secretary of State's Proposed Changes to the draft Regional Spatial Strategy. This is the first stage of consultation on the document and supporting evidence. Once finalised and adopted the South West of Exeter Area Action Plan will be one of four Development Plan Documents included in the Teignbridge Local Development Framework 2006-2031 (LDF).

Responses to this Issues and Options Paper should be received by the Council on or before Friday 29th January 2010.

Comments may be made on line through the Council's (Limehouse) consultation portal at http://teignbridge.limehouse.co.uk/portal (you will need to register your details to do this), be emailed to forwardplanning@teignbridge.gov.uk or sent as a written response to the Service Lead for Planning and Development at Teignbridge District Council, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 4XX. The use of a standard questionnaire response form provided is encouraged for making responses.

  • Teignbridge District Council (main reception) and Exeter City Council Offices
  • Newton Abbot, Exeter St Thomas and Exeter Central Libraries 
  • Exminster, Shillingford St George, Kenn and Ide Parish Councils

    • Two public consultation events are to be held in the local area during January. Council officers will be in attendance and available to answer questions. Copies of the consultation document and response forms will be available at the venues. The events will be held on :-

    Thursday 14th January 2010 at Shillingford Village Hall - 3pm-7pm

    Saturday 16th  January 2010 at Exminster Victory Hall - 10am - 2pm

    Members of the public may purchase printed copies of the consultation document from this Council's offices at a cost of £3.00 and should contact a member of the LDF Team on 01626 215747.  Payment will need to be made in advance of the document being sent out.  Cheques should be made payable to Teignbridge District Council.  Persons may also contact the LDF Team if help is needed in completing the response form or if they have queries regarding the Area Action Plan or the Local Development Framework.
