Recognised by the Government as a New Growth Point in 2006, the Exeter and East Devon local authority partners made a commitment to deliver a number of strategic developments with the aim of helping Exeter and East Devon to reach its full potential.  Exeter Cathedral

These developments offer much needed market value and affordable housing together with a range of skilled employment opportunities in close proximity to each other.  

Guided by national and regional polices such as the Local Development Framework (LDF) which is the local planning authority's folder of development documents: Exeter and East Devon Growth Point has put together a package for sustainable growth.  This package has now attracted over £50 million pounds worth of public funding.

Cranbrook Town Centre - Artist ImpressionBy working in partnership with the South West Regional Development Agency (South West RDA) and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point also aspires to the highest codes and standards for sustainable development. 

This includes building developments that have low carbon emissions, district heating schemes fuelled from a sustainable source, high quality public transport links, community buildings, parks and leisure facilities.

This vision has been created to enable Exeter and East Devon to reach its full economic potential and to provide a sustainable way of living which will provide a solid foundation for future economic growth.
