New FREE Business Event for East Devon

"In Business at Bicton" Bicton College, East Budleigh, Budleigh Salterton, EX9 7BY

Thursday 8 March 2012 - Drop in between 4pm - 8pm

“Businesses are registering on an hourly basis to confirm their attendance at a new business event In Business at Bicton at Bicton College in East Devon” says organiser Val Baker of the Blackdown Hills Business Association (BHBA) and Secretary of the Association of East Devon Chambers of Commerce (AEDCC).

"Talking to local businesses over the last few months, we felt there was a strong need for a new opportunity for businesses in East Devon, to promote their products and services, learn new skills, get advice and meet with other local businesses. We have been thrilled with the response, so much so we may make it a regular event.” added Val.

Doors open at 4pm (closing at 8pm) on Thursday, 8th March 2012.

"Even if you are just at the idea stage of your business, you are very welcome to attend this event”, added Val. “You may be surprised at the range of businesses and organisations that can help you with specific needs whether you are looking for finance, website designers or help with taking advantage of social media.

Alternatively you might need some help with tendering for contracts, taking on an apprentice or simply help with becoming self-employed. Alternatively, you might like to sample some delicious local produce from the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty!”

During the event the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point will be outlining new business and employment opportunities in East Devon at the biggest development project in the south west this side of Bristol.

The vision of the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point is to realise the full economic potential of Exeter and East Devon - to provide a range of employment opportunities alongside new communities where people will have the ability to live close to where the majority of jobs will be provided.

At the event you will also have the opportunity to speak to the Devon and Cornwall Business Council, one of the main sponsors of this event. They represent over 40,000 businesses and are considered a leading voice for businesses in the area. Find out how they can help your business.  Lloyds TSB Commercial will also be on hand to talk through how they can help your business.
