New route for traffic as A30 Blackhorse exit slip road is closed

New route for traffic as A30 Blackhorse exit slip road is closed

The Blackhorse exit slip road near Junction 29 of the M5 will be permanently closed from Saturday (5 May), as part of the on-going improvement scheme.

Motorists are advised that an alternative route for traffic heading eastbound to Blackhorse and Sowton village will be provided along the new link road, which has been built within the former Redhayes parkland. A temporary section of road will connect the new link to the B3174 (old A30) at Blackhorse, while work in this area is completed.

A30 traffic heading in the direction of Honiton will be unaffected by these changes.

Cyclists and pedestrians heading in both directions between Junction 29 and Blackhorse will also be permanently diverted onto a new footway/cycleway along the north side of the new link road, from Friday 4 May.

There will be a temporary 30mph speed limit along the new link for the safety of the travelling public and the contractor’s workforce.
