A short film commissioned by East Devon District Council charting the development of Cranbrook has been released today (26 March 2015).
The short film was recorded when the community came together to celebrate ‘Cranbrook Day’ on 29 June last year, an event that included consultation undertaken by East Devon Volunteer Support Agency (EDVSA), to find out what residents would like to see in the Cranbrook of the future.
The film shows that whilst bricks and mortar build a new town, it is the people that make a place. Work started in June 2011 and now Cranbrook has almost 1,000 occupied homes, making an estimated population of around 2,200.Cllr
Andrew Moulding, Deputy Leader of East Devon District Council, said: “This is the second film we have had made and it is fascinating to see people building their lives in Cranbrook and see how all the planning over a period of more than 10 years is making a difference to the lives of local people. The first film was recorded on the day the show homes opened nearly three years ago; it is amazing how far we have come in that time.”
