Younghayes Centre Open Days and Christmas Celebration at Cranbrook

On Friday 13 and Saturday 14 December the Younghayes Centre is hosting two open days, inviting the residents to meet organisations working in and around Cranbrook. On the Saturday there is a festive celebration around the community Christmas tree.

The open days are made up of two drop-in sessions both held between 2pm – 5pm, where residents will have the chance to meet representatives from a number of local services supplied by East Devon District Council and several organisations and community groups such as Leisure East Devon, the Housing Associations and Job Centre Plus.

The event is designed so that residents can easily meet, ask questions and make suggestions to various organisations in and around Cranbrook that have the potential to touch their lives, either now or in the future.

Christmas Celebration

On the Saturday, the open day will lead into a festive celebration around the Christmas tree from 4pm. The 20ft tree is a gift of Lord Clinton, Clinton Devon Estates has come from the Estate’s Castle Lane Plantation Exmouth.

There will be music, mulled wine and minced pies. Children can bring their letters along for Santa, there will even be a treat for Dr Who fans...a chance to meet a Dalek!

John Varley, Estates Director, Clinton Devon Estates who donated the Christmas tree said: “Christmas at Cranbrook will be a really special time for this new community, many of whom will be first time homeowners. We hope that our donation of a locally grown fir tree from one of our East Devon plantations will provide an important focal point for their celebrations.”
